In the past we have covered some Firefox’s plugins that enabled you to take screenshots of web pages’ regions on the fly: their names were Screengrab and Fireshot.
There’s also a new extension that I’d like to share with you, which has been launched by Aviary.com, a suite of web based products for image and audio editing.

Its name is Talon, and it is a Firefox plugin which lets you capture regions of your browser with the click of a button, edit them online, and then save them as PNG files on your computer.
When it has been installed, it creates a new button near the address bar, and also integrates itself into you Firefox’s right click menu. You can then decide whether to capture a region or the entire screen: after you have shot, you will be able to save the picture locally on your machine in PNG format, copy the image to the clipboard, save it in your Aviary account, or edit it with Aviary’s image editor Phoenix.
Talon also comes in a web based version, which can be found at Talon’s official page: here you can simply paste any URL into the box, enter screen resolution, image quality and region, and click capture to save the picture.
